2005 Chevrolet Blazer Differential Pinion Bearing

You need to remove the differential assembly, the differential side bearings, and the differential assembly from the vise.

When removing the propeller shaft, do not attempt to remove the shaft by pounding on the yoke ears or using a tool between the yoke and the universal joint. If the propeller shaft is removed by using such means, the injection joints may fracture and lead to premature failure of the joint.

You need to install the outer and inner pinion bearing cup, determine the selective shim thickness for the pinion, install the selective shim between the inner pinion bearing and the shoulder on the gear, install the inner pinion bearing, install a new collapsible spacer, lubricate the pinion bearing with axle lubricant, install the pinion into the axle housing, install the outer pinion bearing onto the pinion, install a new pinion oil seal and the pinion flange/yoke, install the differential assembly, the brake rotors, the brake calipers, the tire and wheel assemblies, then fill the axle with lubricant.

Observe and mark the positions of all the driveline components relative to the propeller shaft and the axles before disassembly. These components include the propeller shafts, drive axles, pinion flanges, output shafts, etc. Assemble all the components in the exact places in which you removed the parts. Follow any specifications, torque values, and measurements obtained before disassembly.
