The procedure is to raise the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel, remove the shock module, install the shock module into the spring compressor, mark the upper control arm assembly and insulator, turn the spring compressor forcing screw, remove the magnitude sensor nut, remove the shock absorber upper retaining nut, remove the shock absorber, loosen the compressor forcing screw and remove the upper control arm bracket assembly, insulator and coil spring.

The procedure is to remove the trim panel, move the sound insulator away, disconnect the electrical connector for the F55 suspension, remove the upper shock mounting nuts, raise the vehicle, disconnect the automatic level control air line, remove the lower shock mounting bolt and remove the shock.

You can install the shock module to the vehicle, install the shock module upper mounting bolts, connect the damper coil harness connector, raise the vehicle, install the upper control arm to the steering knuckle, install the upper control arm to the steering knuckle retaining nut, connect the suspension position sensor link rod to the upper control arm, install the shock yoke, install the shock to the yoke, install the tire and wheel and lower the vehicle.

A:
You can make an indentation 50 mm (2 in) from the top of the tube, make an indentation 25 mm (1.0 in) from the bottom of the tube, clamp the shock absorber in a vise horizontally with the shock absorber rod completely extended, drill a hole in the shock absorber at the center-punch, drill a second hole in the shock absorber at the center-punch and remove the shock absorber from the vise.
