Q: How do you remove the Camshaft-Left Side?
A:
You need to remove the lower intake manifold, the left bank camshaft cover, the camshaft sensors, the camshaft position actuator solenoid and the crankshaft balancer, rotate the crankshaft with the EN 46111 until the camshafts are in a neutral (low tension) position, loosen the camshaft position actuator bolt, unscrew the EN-48313 so that the legs of the tool are retracted, insert the EN-48313 between the camshaft actuators, rearward of the timing chain until the bottom line that is scribed in the body of the tool is adjacent to the top surface of the cylinder head, ensure that the feet on the legs of the tool are facing the front of the engine, partially expand the legs of the EN-48313 by turning the T-shaped handle clockwise, insert the leg of the tool behind the timing chain guide, continue expanding the EN-48313 until the legs contact the timing chain, hand tighten the EN-48313, use an open end wrench on the hex cast into the left intake and exhaust camshafts and rotate the camshafts toward each other in order to create slack in the chain between the actuators, install the EN-48313 to hold the timing chain in position, mark the timing chain and the respective locations on the camshaft position actuators, and then remove the camshaft position actuator bolt and the camshafts.

Q: How do you install the Camshaft-Left Side?
A:
You need to locate the camshafts to the cylinder head and assemble the camshaft actuators to the camshafts, install the camshafts and the camshaft bearing caps, remove the EN-48313, install and tighten the camshaft position actuators, and then install the intake camshaft position actuator solenoid, the camshaft sensors, the crankshaft balance, the camshaft cover, and the lower intake manifold.

FAQ for Other Repair Info
Q: How do you install the Primary Camshaft Drive Chain and Sprockets?
A:
You need to ensure the crankshaft sprocket is installed with the timing mark visible, install the crankshaft sprocket onto the nose of the crankshaft, align the notch in the crankshaft sprocket with the pin in the crankshaft, slide the crankshaft sprocket on the crankshaft nose until the crankshaft sprocket contacts the step in the crankshaft, ensure the crankshaft is in the stage one timing position with the crankshaft sprocket timing mark aligned to the stage one timing mark on the oil pump cover, and then install the primary camshaft Timing Chain, the primary upper camshaft drive chain guide, the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner, the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain, the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain guide, the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain shoe, the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner, the spark plugs, and the engine front cover.
Q: What may be the cause of intermittent stiff steering, intermittent steering effort hard, intermittent compressor noise when AC is on, and intermittent drive belt squeal/chirp?
A:
It may be caused by water splashing onto the Drive Belt and causing the belt to slip on the pulleys.
Q: What is the recommended torque for the engine front cover bolts?
