FAQ for Intake Manifold Repair

Q: How do you remove the upper intake manifold?
A:
You need to remove the vacuum brake booster hose, if equipped, and disconnect the accelerator control and cruise control cables (if equipped). Remove the accelerator control cable bracket and set it aside, the PCV tube at the intake manifold, the engine wiring harness bracket from the manifold, the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve, the studs holding the upper intake manifold to the lower intake manifold, and the lower intake manifold.

Q: How to install the power steering bracket?
A:
You need to install the power steering bracket onto the stud, the nut onto the stud finger tight, the three bolts finger tight, and the two nuts to the back of the power steering pump and the power steering pump. Then connect the electrical connector to the power steering pump, the fuel pipes to the rear of the intake manifold, and the wiring bracket to the rear of the right cylinder head.
