Q: What is the proper way to install the Intake Camshaft and Valve Lifter?
A:
You can install the hydraulic element lash adjusters, lubricate the hydraulic lash adjusters, lubricate the valve tips, position the camshaft roller followers on the tip of the valve stem and the lash adjuster, install the intake camshaft and the camshaft bearing caps, tighten the bearing cap bolts in increments of 3 turns and install the intake camshaft position actuator.

Q: How do you install the Camshaft Position Intake Actuator?
A:
You can install the timing chain, align the intake camshaft actuator alignment mark made previously with the timing chain mark, install the actuator and a new intake camshaft actuator bolt, remove the timing chain retention tool from the intake side of the timing chain and the exhaust side of the timing chain, reset and install the timing chain tensioner, install the EN-48953-retention tool, install the camshaft actuator retainer bolts, tighten the new camshaft actuator bolt, tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt, remove the EN-48953-retention tool and install the upper timing chain guide and bolts, the spark plugs and the camshaft cover.

Q: How do you install the Camshaft Position Exhaust Actuator?
A:
You can install the timing chain, align the exhaust camshaft actuator alignment mark made previously with the timing chain mark, install the actuator and a new exhaust camshaft actuator bolt, remove the EN-48749-retention tool, reset and install the timing chain tensioner, install the intake camshaft actuator retainer, install the camshaft actuator retainer bolts, tighten the new camshaft actuator bolt, apply a counterclockwise rotational torque to the crankshaft balancer bolt of 45 Nm (33 lb-ft), remove the camshaft actuator retainer EN-48953-retention tool and install the upper timing chain guide and bolts, the camshaft cover and the spark plugs.

Q: How do you replace the Camshaft Position Exhaust Actuator?
A:
You can remove the camshaft cover and the spark plugs, rotate the crankshaft clockwise, install the EN-48953-retention tool, install the camshaft actuator retainer bolts, loosen the exhaust camshaft actuator bolt, clean the timing chain and gears with solvent, mark the intake and exhaust camshaft actuators and the respective locations on the timing chain, remove the upper timing chain guide bolts and guide, remove the timing chain tensioner, install the EN-48749-retention tool, remove and discard the exhaust camshaft actuator bolt and remove the exhaust camshaft actuator.

You can install the hydraulic element lash adjusters, lubricate the hydraulic lash adjusters, lubricate the valve tips with Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers, position the roller followers on the tip of the valve stem, and the lash adjuster, install the exhaust camshaft and the camshaft bearing caps, tighten the bearing cap bolts in increments of 3 turns and install the exhaust camshaft position actuator.
