Q: How to repair the aluminum wheel porosity?
A:
You shall remove the tire and wheel, inflate the tire to the manufactures specified pressure as stated on the tire, submerge the tire/wheel into a water bath to locate the leak, inscribe a mark on the wheel to indicate the leak areas, inscribe a mark on the tire at the valve stem, remove the tire from the wheel, use number 80 grit sandpaper to scuff the inside of the rim surface at the leak area, use general purpose cleaner to clean the leak area, apply 3 mm (0.12 in) thick layer of adhesive/sealant to the leak area, align the inscribed mark on the tire with the valve stem on the wheel, install the tire to the wheel, inflate the tire, submerge the tire/wheel into a water bath, balance the tire and wheel, and install the tire and wheel.

Q: How to refinish the aluminum wheel?
A:
You shall remove the tire and wheel assembly, the balance weights, the tire, the lubricants, wax, and dirt from the wheel, and the paint from the wheel, mask the wheel mounting surface and the wheel nut contact surface, follow the paint manufacturer's instructions for painting the wheel, unmask the wheel, install a new valve stem, install the tire to the wheel, remove corrosion, overspray and dirt from the wheel mounting surface, and install the tire and wheel assembly to the vehicle.
