01/11/2022Q: How do you install the Shock, Shock Component, and/or Spring?
A:
You need to assemble the front suspension strut mount, front spring upper seat, front suspension strut bumper, front spring upper insulator, and the front suspension spring in the spring compressor, align the spring seat stop, the outboard stud, and the center of the lower strut mount. The notch in the spring seat should be just to the right of the outboard stud. You can position the shock absorber in the upper retaining bracket of the CH-48845 so the shock absorber will be centered, use the CH-48845 to compress the front spring, use the appropriate size wrench to hold the shock absorber shaft, install the new shock absorber nut, remove the shock absorber assembly from the spring compressor and install the shock absorber in the vehicle.

You need to install the front shock absorber assembly in the CH-48845, position the shock absorber in the upper retaining bracket of the CH-48845 so the shock absorber will be centered, use the CH-48845 to compress the front spring, use the appropriate size wrench to hold the shock absorber shaft, use the appropriate tool to remove and discard the shock absorber nut, remove the front lower shock absorber and the front spring lower insulator and the front suspension strut mount, front spring upper seat, front suspension strut bumper, front spring upper insulator, and the front suspension spring from the spring compressor.

A:
You need to support the rear axle and disconnect the electronic suspension control connector. If the vehicle is equipped with air leveling, perform the following: turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF and install a scan tool. With the scan tool, exhaust the air from the system for at least 60 seconds. Then you can disconnect the air line and remove the upper shock absorber nut and the bolt, the lower shock absorber nut, and the bolt and the shock absorber.
