Q: How do I remove the Auxiliary Heater Inlet and Outlet Hose Connector Retainer and Seal?
A:
You should drain the cooling system, remove the fitting from the tube by squeezing the retainer clip legs together and pulling the fitting from the tub, and remove the retainer from the tube, place a flat-blade tool through the window of the quick-connect fitting to just below the outer bushing and above the top O-ring, remove the outer bushing, remove other components and dis and clean and inspect the inside surface of the fitting for nicks, scratches or cracks.

Q: How do I install the Auxiliary Heater Inlet and Outlet Hose Connector Retainer and Seal?
A:
You should lubricate O-rings with coolant, install the first O-ring and gently push down into the O-ring pocket, install the midspacer and gently push down to the first O-ring, install the second O-ring and gently push down to the top of midspacer, install the retainer clip by lining up the retainer legs with windows on the fitting housing, clean and inspect the pipe end for any nicks, scratches or crack, install the fitting to the vehicle by pushing the fitting onto the tube until an audible click is heard and fill the cooling system.

Q: What should be cautioned in Straight Line Repair of Auxiliary Heater and Air Conditioning Pipe repair?
A:
You should recover the refrigerant, if repairing the A/C lines, drain the coolant, if repairing the heater lines, locate the area that requires repair, obtain a length of replacement line to repair, and use a tubing cutter to cut and remove the section of damaged line. The length of the replacement line must be the same as the section being replaced.
