You should fill the injury channel to provide backup for the repair unit and to prevent moisture from entering the tire fabric and steel wires, cement the injured channel and fill the injury from the inside of the tire with the repair plug per the repair material manufacturer's recommendations, cut the plug off just above the inside tire surface without stretching the plug, and consult your repair material supplier for proper repair material selection.

You should remove the tire from the wheel for inspection and repair, fill the injury (puncture) to keep moisture out and seal the inner liner with a repair unit to prevent air loss.

You should deflate the tire completely, remove the tire from the wheel, all residual liquid sealant from the inside of the tire and wheel surfaces, and any rubber, or corrosion from the wheel bead seats, install the tire to the wheel, inflate the tire to the proper air pressure and ensure that the locating rings are visible on both sides of the tire to verify that the tire bead is fully seated on the wheel.

You should ensure that the directional arrow on the tire is mounted to the outboard side of the rim in the direction of forward rotation when installed onto the vehicle if the vehicle is equipped with directional tread tires.

You should remove the tire and wheel, inflate the tire to the manufactures specified pressure as stated on the tire, submerge the tire/wheel into a water bath to locate the leak, remove the tire from the wheel, install the tire to the wheel, submerge the tire/wheel into a water bath in order ensure the leak is sealed, inflate the tire to the specified pressure as stated on the tire placard and install the tire and wheel.
