2008 Cadillac XLR Steering Column

You should install the control module to the retaining bracket on the steering column, connect the electrical connector to the lock module and install the I/P carrier.

You should remove the steering column from the vehicle, the turn signal cancel cam, the windshield wiper wash, and switch assembly, the multifunction switch assembly, the wire harness straps from the wire harness, the electronic lock module lead from the wire harness assembly, and the electronic lock module from the steering column.

You should remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier, and the lock module by pulling the module up to release the retaining clips and sliding the module upward.

You should install the electronic lock module onto the steering column, new wire harness straps, the turn signal cancel cam, the windshield wiper wash and switch assembly, the multifunction switch assembly, and the steering column into the vehicle.

You should inspect the capsules on the steering column bracket assembly, observe how the bracket is attached to the jacket assembly, inspect for jacket assembly collapse by measuring the distance as shown in the graphic, inspect for tab breakage on the bearing and adapter assembly, inspect the steering shaft for sheared injected plastic and rotate the steering wheel.
