First, install the strut into place, install the strut to knuckle bolts and tighten the strut to knuckle bolts/nuts to 120 Nm. Connect the stabilizer shaft link to the strut and install the tire/wheel. Finally, install the strut-to-body mount nuts and tighten the strut-to-body mount nuts to 45 Nm.

Clamp the strut in a vise horizontally with the rod and drill a hole in the strut at the center of the end cap. Remove the strut from the vise and hold the strut over a drain pan vertically with the hole down. Finally, move the rod in and out of the tube to completely drain the oil from the strut.

First, install the coil spring and upper strut mount to the J 45400. Install the strut to the coil spring and upper strut mount. Next, install the retaining nut and the strut to the vehicle.
