FAQ for Alloy Wheels Repair

Q: Why is tire rotation necessary?
A:
Radial tires tend to wear faster in the shoulder area, particularly in front positions. Radial tires in non-drive locations may develop an irregular wear pattern that may increase tire noise. This makes regular rotation especially necessary.

Q: What should not be done during Tire repair?
A:
You mustn't repair tires worn to the tread indicators 1.59 mm (2/32 in) remaining depth, repair tires with a tread puncture larger than 6.35 mm (1/4 in), or substitute an inner tube for a permissible or non-permissible repair, perform an outside-in tire repair (plug only, on the wheel).

Q: How to mount and dismount the tire?
A:
You can deflate the tire completely, then remove the tire from the wheel, and remove any rubber, light rust, or corrosion from the wheel bead seats, next apply an approved lubricant to the tire bead and the wheel rim, install the tire to the wheel, then inflate the tire to the proper air pressure, finally ensure that the locating rings are visible on both sides of the tire to verify that the tire bead is fully seated on the wheel.

Q: What should be noticed about Tire repair?
A:
You will need to remember that tire changing can be dangerous and should be done by trained professionals using proper tools and procedures. You should always read and understand any manufacturer's warnings contained in their customer's literature or molded into the tire sidewall. What's more, you should never inflate beyond 275 kPa (40 pounds) pressure to seat beads or stand, lean, or reach over the assembly during inflation.

Q: What should be noticed when rotating the tire?
A:
You should always use a 4-wheel rotation. After rotation, you can check the wheel nuts for specified torque. Then, you need to set the tire pressure.
