FAQ for Camber and Alignment Kit Repair

Q: How to adjust the Front Caster and Camber?
A:
The caster and camber adjustments are made by rotating the offset cam bolt and the cam in the slotted frame bracket in order to reposition the control arm. And then you should determine the caster angle, determine the positive camber or negative camber angle, next the 4WD and 2WD Z71 vehicles are adjusted at the upper control arm, and the 2WD vehicles are adjusted at the lower control arm, then remove the pinned adjusting cam insert, loosen the control arm cam adjustment bolts, use the J 45938 adjust the caster and the camber angle by turning the cam bolts until the specifications have been met, then verify that the caster and the camber are still within specifications, and when the caster and camber are within specifications, adjust the toe.

Q: What should be done before measuring the trim heights?
A:
First, you should make sure the vehicle is on a level surface, such as an alignment rack. Next, you need to remove the alignment rack floating pins, then set the tire pressures to the pressure shown on the certification label, check the fuel level and add additional weight if necessary to simulate a full tank. Then you should make sure the rear compartment is empty except for the spare tire, and close the doors and hood.
