Q: How do you remove the crankshaft balancer?
A:
You need to remove the air conditioning (A/C) drive belt, the cooling fan, the shroud, and the starter motor and install the J 42386-A and bolts. Next, you can use one M10-1.5 x 120 mm and one M10-1.5 x 45 mm bolt for proper tool operation, remove the crankshaft balancer bolt, install the J 41816 and J 41816-2 to the crankshaft balancer, use the J 41816 and the J 41816-2 to remove the crankshaft balancer and remove the J 41816 and the J 41816-2 from the crankshaft balancer.

Q: How do you install the crankshaft balancer?
A:
You need to position the crankshaft balancer onto the end of the crankshaft, install the J 41665 and the threaded rod from the J 41478 to the crankshaft balancer and install the balancer and the used crankshaft balancer bolt, remove the used crankshaft balancer bolt, measure for a correctly installed balancer and install the new crankshaft balancer bolt. Then you can remove the J 42386-A (1) and bolts, install the starter motor, the cooling fan and shroud, and the A/C drive belt, and perform the crankshaft position (CKP) system variation learn procedure.
