You should remove the 12-volt power supply or cigar lighter fuse and the socket by placing one side of the °T° portion of the tool J 42059 into the socket and the square window tab, position the opposite °T° portion of the tool into the opposing square window tab, pull the socket straight out of the retaining ring, remove the tool from the socket, disconnect the electrical connector from the socket and remove the socket retaining ring by pulling the retaining ring out of the mounting hole.

You should partially remove the body side trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector from the 12-volt outlet assembly and remove the threaded ring and lock washer from the outlet and the outlet assembly from the vehicle.

You should install the outlet assembly properly indexed to the body side trim panel and the lock washer and threaded ring, connect the electrical connector and install the body side trim panel.
