Q: What is the removal procedure for the rear axle shaft and/or gasket?
A:
The procedure is to remove the flange bolts, the Axle Shaft, and the gasket, and then clean the axle shaft flange and the outside face of the hub assembly.
Q: What is the cause of the noise?
A:
The cause is that this noise may be caused by a low clearance condition within the Differential in the front axle assembly. In the 2WD mode, the front differential has a large amount of relative motion between the differential pinion and side gears.
Q: What is the proper way to install the front drive axle inner shaft seal and inner shaft bearing?
A:
The proper way is to install the right side bearing, the new Axle Shaft Seal, and the inner axle shaft, and then fill the differential carrier assembly.
