You need to mark the connectors to their corresponding injectors to ensure correct reassembly, pull the connector position assurance retainer on the connector up with 1 click, push the tab on the connector in, disconnect the fuel injector electrical connector, and repeat the steps for each injector electrical connector.

You should remove the fuel rail assembly carefully to prevent damage to the injector electrical connector terminals and the injector spray tips, support the fuel rail after the fuel rail is removed to avoid damaging the fuel rail components, and cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering open pipes and passages.

After relieving the system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines or connections. To reduce the chance of personal injury, cover the regulator and the fuel line fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting. This will catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when the disconnection is complete.

You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, install the J 34730-1A, loosen the fuel fill cap, open the valve on J 34730-1A, drain any fuel remaining in the gage into an approved container, and remove the J 34730-1A once the system pressure is completely relieved.
