The recommended torque is 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

You need to remove the strut, install the strut in the J45400, next turn the spring compressor forcing screw until the coil spring is compressed, remove the upper strut mount nut, then remove the strut from the J45400, and loosen the compressor forcing screw until the upper strut mount and coil spring may be removed, then remove the upper strut mount and the coil spring.

First, you need to make an indentation 10 mm (0.4 inches) from the bottom of the tube using a centerpunch, next clamp the shock absorber in a vise horizontally with the shock absorber rod completely extended, then drill a hole in the shock absorber at the centerpunch using a 5 mm (3/16 inch) drill bit, and make an indentation in the middle of the tube with a centerpunch, and drill a second hole in the shock absorber at the centerpunch using a 5 mm (3/16 inch) drill bit, finally remove the shock absorber from the vise.

You need to clamp the strut in a vise horizontally with the rod completely extended, next drill a hole in the strut at the center of the end cap using a 5 mm (3/16 inch) drill bit, then remove the strut from the vise, hold the strut over a drain pan vertically with the hole down, and move the rod in and out of the tube to completely drain the oil from the strut.

You need to raise and support the vehicle, slightly compress the coil spring and relieve the tension on the shock absorber, disconnect the air tube connector from the shock absorber if the vehicle is equipped with automatic level control, then remove the shock absorber upper bolt and nut, remove the shock absorber lower bolt and nut, and the shock absorber.
