FAQ for Oil Pan Repair

Q: How to remove the oil pan?
A:
After disconnecting the battery negative cable, you can remove the oil level indicator. Then you need to raise the vehicle. After that, you can remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil into a suitable container. Next, you need to remove the oil filter, the bolts, the crankcase position sensor, the starter, the transmission cover, the inner axle shaft, and the front differential carrier upper and lower mounting nuts and bolts. Then you can lower the front differential carrier assembly, and remove the access plugs for the oil pan rear nuts. After removing the transmission to oil pan bolts and the oil pan from the engine, you need to clean all sealing surfaces on the engine and the oil pan.
