You should lubricate the new seals, apply a single layer of tape to the pitman arm shaft to avoid damaging the seal, install the seal, the washer, the snap ring, center the steering wheel, install the dust seal, the pitman shaft boot, the pitman arm and bleed the system.

You should mark the position of the pitman arm to the pitman shaft, remove the pitman arm from the pitman shaft, remove the pitman shaft boot, the dust seal, the snap ring, the nut, and the pitman arm, the washer, and the seal and inspect the pitman shaft seal surfaces for roughness or pitting and inspect the housing for burrs. Remove the burrs before installing the new seal and clean the pitman shaft and the seal areas using crocus cloth.
