Q: What is the CKP system variation learn procedure?
A:
You need to install the scan tool, apply the vehicle parking brake, block the drive wheels and close the hood. Next place the vehicle transmission in park (A/T) or neutral (M/T), idle the engine until the coolant temperature reaches 65°C (150°F), and turn off all the accessories. Enable the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn Procedure with the scan tool and then apply and hold the service brakes, quickly raise the engine speed to 4,000 RPM and immediately release the throttle when the engine speed decreases. Then you can turn off the ignition for 15 seconds after the learn procedure is completed successfully.

Q: What is the removal procedure for the crankshaft position (SKP) sensor?
A:
You need to disconnect the negative battery cable and raise the vehicle. Remove the CKP sensor harness connector, the sensor hold-down bolt, and the sensor from the timing cover. Then you can inspect the sensor O-ring for wear, cracks, or leakage, replace it if necessary and lube the new O-ring with clean engine oil before installing.
