Eagle was a brand of Chrysler. It was acquired by AMC in 1987. And in 1999, it stopped production. It has a variety of imported and domestic vehicles that were sold. Its products were often sold primarily along with Jeep products. It was discontinued in 1998. Although it was short-lived, its sales were considerable. For example, the sporty Talon traded over 115,000 units. The brand was aimed at avid drivers. It was advertised as more "European" than similar models.
The development can be divided into three stages. The first stage is its origin. Chrysler's primary goal was Jeep, but Renault forced the company to acquire passenger car models. As a result, Eagle became a line of cars that Chrysler inherited. Thus it was born. Under the new ownership, the corporation quickly discontinued the domestically developed front-wheel drive Alliance and Encore. But it continued to build the four-wheel-drive Eagle crossover. It was now known as the Wagon and was available for the 1988 model year. The corporation continued to import the midsize Renault 21. And it began producing the full-size Renault 25-based sedan.
The second period is its marketing time. Following the 1987 acquisition, the Jeep/Eagle division was formed to consolidate marketing. It did not have the "Pentastar" logo. Instead, all models prominently displayed the eagle head logo. Two of its first models, the Premier and Medallion, were designed by AMC and its former corporate partner Renault. The rest of the cars were simply rebranded versions sold by other divisions of the corporation. Throughout its history, it lacked product recognition. The head office only focused on four-wheel-drive Jeeps and Eagle all-wheel-drive vehicles. The last part is phasing out. In 1996, the corporation closed the Eagle Summit. After a decade of slow sales, it announced its discontinuation in September 1997. Shortly after that, the last 1998 Talon rolled off the line. The Vision was discontinued at the end of its design cycle in 1997. Only Eagle Talon remained for 1998. And lastly, it was discontinued along with the Eagle brand itself.
Although it has been shut down, drivers can still find Eagle auto parts and accessories online. They provide various quality aftermarket auto parts, such as accelerators and electrical parts. New auto parts purchased are covered by a manufacturer warranty. For other auto parts, it can provide a 90-day replacement warranty.
