About Toyota Echo
The Toyota Echo, or Toyota Platz in Japan, was referred to as a sedan, and there was a special supply of coupé in North America. Its aim was to make young buyers affordable for the marque in the first place. The Echo consisted of a 93.3-inch wheelbase, a 163.2-inch (From 1999 to 2002) or 164.6-inch (From 2002 to 2005) length, a 65.4-inch width, and 59.1 or 59.4 inches height, depending on the edition of FWD and 4WD. As the successor of Toyota Tercel and Paseo, the Echo was equipped with the powertrain of a 1.5L four-cylinder engine, together with a five-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Most models contained manual windows and locks, an air conditioner, and a CD and/or cassette player included in the audio system of six speakers.
On other occasions, the Toyota Echo was also a subcompact hatchback, which served as the first generation of XP10 series Vitz in Oceania, North America, and the Philippines. It was also known as Toyota Yaris in Europe. It was first released in Australia in October 1999, replacing its predecessor, Starlet, and ended production in the year 2005. The launch in North America was in 2003, offering four different trims in Canada. It was first introduced to replace the Echo coupé but was never sold in the United States of America. The model had the version of three- and five-door hatchback for choice.

In Australia, the model was equipped with the 1.3L 2NZ-FE engine, along with a standard five-speed manual transmission and optional four-speed automatic. Later in March 2001, the Echo "Sportivo" was produced, equipped with the 1.5L 1NZ-FE engine, as well as the lifting of equipment facilities. Air-conditioner, CD player, and remote keyless entry were included, but the safety pack was removed, transferring into an option. The safety pack returned in December 2004. The "Sportivo" only offers a manual transmission. In June 2005, the Echo "Rush" was launched. In Canada, all Echo hatchbacks were fitted with the 1.5L 1NZ-FE engine. The wheel size of the model was 14 inches and was made of alloy.
