About Pontiac Vibe
Joining hands together, General Motors and Toyota jointly launched the Pontiac Vibe model in the 2003 model year. The Pontiac Vibe was manufactured by the Toyota-GM joint venture NUMMI in Fremont, California. It inherited the production of a former GM model. It is the last of the GM and Toyota jointly developed S-body cars being derived from the Toyota Corolla model series. A variant for the right-hand-drive version of the Pontiac Vibe was developed in the name of Toyota Voltz.
Sharing designs and most interior ad mechanical components with Toyota Matrix, the Vibe enjoys compliant suspension, intuitive cabin controls, and a generous amount of room for cargo and passengers alone. These improvements based on the other series make the Vibe become one of the most competitive model series in this segment of the market.

The powering parts of the Pontiac Vibe were first installed as a 1.8L four-cylinder that can run up to 130 horsepower. A five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission is paired up with the power system. Later, the Pontiac Vibe provided two trim levels of the model to the market: basic and GT. The basic model inherited the starting 130 horsepower engine while the GT model was able to get an upgrade in its engine parts with a 1.8L that was able to reach 164 horsepower. The upgraded parts were paired with a six-speed manual. Customers can also choose the car for both two and all-wheel drives. The all-wheel-drive type has restoration in the engine parts with only 118 horsepower.
In the year 2009, the second generation was launched into the market after the temporary discontinuation of the GT and all-wheel models. The Pontiac Vibe was upgraded into 3 trim levels. It added an all-wheel-drive level in the middle of the base and GT. The AWD purchasers could get a 2.4L four-cylinder that reached 158 horsepower maximumly. They could also get an independent rear suspension. It is matched with a standard four-speed automatic. The GT remained at the highest trim level. Being similar to the AWD model, the new GT is featured by having a five-speed automatic transmission as an option. The new parts were able to provide a much sportier Vibe for the customers' choices.
