About Plymouth Laser
The Plymouth Laser was a two-door 2+2 sports coupe. It was sold from 1989 to 1994. The Laser debuted in January 1989 as a 1990 model. It was introduced in advertising as the "first Plymouth of the 90s". The company produced it from 1984 to 1986. 1990 Laser commercials featured R&B singer Tina Turner. The Laser had three available engines, two transmissions, and sporty "aero" styling. It was one of the most performance-oriented Plymouth muscle cars.
Plymouth has several unique styling cues for this car. In addition to the badging, the Laser has a racing-inspired look. It has plastic panels instead of a grille and a full rear light bar. The hood bulge is used on the 2.0 L engine. And alloy wheels with a stylish "lace" pattern are available. The base Laser is powered by a 92 hp (69 kW ) 1.8 L four-cylinder engine. The Laser RS is available with a 135 hp (101 kW), 2.0 L 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder one. The top-of-the-line RS Turbo was equipped with a 2.0 L DOHC 16-valve turbocharged 4-cylinder type. A 5-speed manual transmission was standard. A 4-speed automatic one was optional.

The Plymouth Laser was released in January 1989. Among other options, the RS could be equipped with a factory-installed CD player. It was the first such option for any Plymouth. 1991 saw the Laser equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). And the turbocharged engine could now be ordered with an automatic transmission. Cosmetic changes were made. A new all-wheel drive (AWD) car was added to the lineup. And the Plymouth RS Turbo AWD was available only with a manual transmission. The hood and front and rear trim panels have also been given a new look. The pop-up headlights have been removed and replaced with multi-shaped fixed headlights. All these changes in accessories and parts gave the car a more aerodynamic look. The rear light bar was replaced by two separate taillights. The RS came with alloy wheels and other cosmetic differences. 1993 could be ordered with an AWD laser with an automatic transmission. The turbocharged one was rated down to 180 hp (130 kW). All lasers except the base type could be equipped with ABS. Production of the Laser ended on June 3, 1994, due to poor sales.
Plymouth has a great selection of parts and accessories. And these parts and accessories provide an excellent replacement for worn parts. Therefore, the aftermarket parts and accessories can help to restore vehicles to their best condition. For example, Plymouth has parts and accessories like exhaust kits. An exhaust system is an indispensable companion to any vehicle. It helps keep cars running properly by venting harmless exhaust gases into the atmosphere.
