About Plymouth Colt
The Plymouth Colt is a subcompact car that was manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors and marketed by Plymouth for model years 1971 to 1994. Mitsubishi Motors is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer. In 2011, Mitsubishi Motors was ranked as the sixth-largest Japanese automaker and the 19th-largest worldwide by production. Plymouth was a brand of automobiles produced by Chrysler Corporation and its successor DaimlerChrysler. The brand was launched in 1928 to compete in what was then described as the "low-priced" market segment that was dominated by Chevrolet and Ford.
The Plymouth Colt has gone through seven generations. The first-generation Plymouth Colt was a federalized first-generation Mitsubishi Colt Galant. It offered several options, including 2-door pillared coupe, 2-door hardtop coupe, 4-door sedan, and 5-door wagon. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder engine. It was also paired with either a 4-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic transmission. The second generation did not see significant changes, with small facelift. For instance, the single headlights took the place of the doubles of the previous generation. The third-generation Plymouth Colt cut down its business to two lines. It was equipped with the 4G32 iteration of Mitsubishi's Saturn engine family 1597 cc and could produce 83 horsepower.

In the fourth generation, four transmissions were available with three manual transmissions and one automatic. They were a KM110 four-speed manual transmission, a "Twin Stick" (Mitsubishi Super Shift) version of the transmission, a KM119 five-speed manual transmission and a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. In 1984, the fifth-generation Colt used a twin-barrel carbureted 68 hp 1468 cc four engine for its base model. Besides, the Colt also introduced a five-door minivan/station wagon, which was called "Colt Vista". The six generation saw improvements in its engine. The Colt was powered by the 1.6-litre 4G61T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and it could deliver 135 horsepower. The seventh generation of the Colt was identical to the Plymouth's version as well as the Eagle Summit. No hatchback version of the seventh generation Plymouth Colt was offered.
