Wiper Blade

The wiper blade is a device used to clean the windshield from any rain, snow, or washer fluid water. The wiper is made up of a metal arm with a rubber blade attached. The blade functions by swinging back and forth, removing anything blocking your view.

Power

Wipers are now mainly powered by electric motor, while in the early days the wipers were powered by a manifold vacuum. Not providing the same power as the electric motor, the wipers would slow down or come to a halt.

Features

Many wipers work with a windscreen washer, a blend is created by the pump that transfers from the tank to the windshield. The liquid travels through tiny nozzles on the hood that disperses the fluid. Some nozzles have been replace with new technology like the Aqua Blade, which applies the liquid to the wiper and doesn't cause any disturbance.

Just like any other component that is part of the vehicle, the wiper needs to be inspected and replaced occasionally. As damage can affect the way the wiper functions and can cause vision disturbance during a storm.

Frequent issues with bad wiper blades

Wiper blades that are worn out can leave streaking and chattering, also leaving a bent frame due to poor windshield contact.
