About Throttle Position Sensor

An essential component is the throttle position sensor which is used to check on the air intake. It also allow the vehicles sensor to adjust the amount of fuel to be release in a controlled manner. The sensor is specifically placed on the shaft to monitor the position of the throttle.

Modern day sensors

The sensors that are out there today are non-contact type, which uses many different sensors like the Hall Effect, inductive, and others. This allows for the sensor to pick up the sensor and the voltage generated. And a significant magnet is known to have a certain magnetic field.

The potentiometric is also a sensor that has metal brush that come into contact with a strip. It changes in resistance due to the ECU receiving the information.

The issues with a bad throttle position sensor

A bad throttle sensor can lead to poor acceleration, and decreased fuel economy.
