The radiator hose is a vital component as it transfers the coolant from the water pump to the heater, which helps maintain the best temperature for the engine. The device is made to remove any extra heat from the coolant before it goes back into the engine and the process begins all over again. The vehicle also has an upper and lower radiator hose which are completely different.
Upper radiator hoseThe upper radiator hose is mainly the pressure hose which allows the fluid to cycle around constantly. It also connects the engine to the radiator and that is where the hot coolant enters to be cooled down and cycle back.
Lower radiator hoseThe main use for the lower radiator hose is to provide suction of the liquid that has been cooled down. It also comes accompanied by the wound wire spring so that it can prevent any collapsing. The hose can be located at the bottom of the radiator and the pump of the engine.
Common issues with a radiator hoseA faulty radiator can lead to coolant leaks, swelling, and overheating.
