About Ignition Lock Housing
The ignition lock housing is important because it protects the ignition lock cylinder. If it were not for the ignition lock housing, any damage to the ignition lock could make it difficult to start the vehicle.
Ignition lock housing functionThe ignition lock housing is placed on the steering column and it supports the ignition cylinder. A turn of the key lets the tumblers inside the cylinder move and allows it to turn with the housing.
