The fuel pump driver module is in charge of supplying the electricity from the vehicle's electrical system to the fuel pump. This component is also known as the fuel pump drive or fuel solenoid driver.
Fuel pump driver module purposeThe fuel pump driver module (FPDM) is made to have the module control the voltage that travels to the vehicle's fuel pump. With the control of the voltage, the driver module keeps the best fuel pressure and fuel delivery to the engine. The FPDM can manage the high-pressure fuel pumps of new, computer-controlled, and fuel-injected engines. And the placement of the module is important because in the early years, some manufacturers installed it above the fuel pump and it led to overheating.
Common issues with a faulty fuel pump driver moduleA faulty fuel pump driver module can lead to the vehicle not starting, a decline in engine power, and rough idle.
