Fuel Line

The fuel line is crucial to the vehicle because it delivers fuel from the fuel tank to the engine. It ensures that the engine produces power through the combustion of the air-fuel mixture consistently.

Materials

The fuel line can be composed of rubber or plastic, many vehicles have rubber fuel hoses that link with the fuel pipe of the chassis. Rubber hoses tend to be more flexible and can be cut to the desired length, but they are susceptible to perish. While modern vehicles usually have fuel lines made of nylon, they are lighter but can melt at high temperatures.

It is more common now to see a plastic fuel line with quick-release fittings. The fitting allows the fuel system parts to clip together, making the process easier than installing the rubber hose. But both plastic and rubber fuel lines are vulnerable to damage.

Common issues with a faulty fuel line

A faulty fuel line can lead to leaking and the engine will not get enough fuel to consistently generate power.
