Door molding principles

The standard door molding is the side molding that is placed in the middle and the widest part of the door. The molding can be composed of many materials like plastic, stainless steel, or chrome plated. The molding shields the layer of sheet metal from any dings and indentations.

The door molding can be in the middle of the door or you can also find it at the bottom of the door. They are installed along the edge of the door to prohibit any damage when the door gets hit. After a while, the door moldings become weathered and dull, so it is important to replace the moldings.
