The hood assist rods are removed by gently prying on the metal clips on each end so that the studs can be released.

Q: How do you properly install the trunk?
A:
The bumper will need to be installed first followed by attaching the trunk to the hinges. Once the hinges are installed you will need to reattach the trunk assist struts and close the rear compartment to check for the proper alignment.
