FAQ for Other Repair Info
Q: What is the proper way to add the washer?
A:
Remove the front wheel hub and bearing and install the washer on the front of the front wheel Driveshaft. A new drive shaft nut will need to be installed as they are not reusable once removed. If the vehicle has already come equipped with a washer, you can simply remove it and replace it with a new washer.
Q: How many quarts does a 6T40/50 transmission take?
A:
If replacing the valve body it takes 7.4 quarts, if replacing the fluid it takes 6.3 quarts, and if doing an overhaul it takes 9 quarts.
Q: How do you properly program this transmission control module?
A:
You will need a Midtronics PSC 550 battery Maintainer during the programming to maintain proper voltage. Connect the MDI to the vehicle and select J2534 or J2534 Tech 2 so it reprograms the ECU. Once in the programming process screen, select the TCM and follow the on-screen instructions which will lead to clearing all DTCs, if any.
