You can place the new small seal clamp onto the small end of the joint seal, compress the joint seal and small seal clamp onto the half shaft bar, position the small end of the joint seal, secure the small seal clamp, install the convolute retainer tool over the inboard joint seal, the tripot spider assembly, the spacer ring, p ack the tripot seal, assemble the tripot housing and the tripot seal, assemble the bolts and the support plate, position the inboard end (tripot end) of the half shaft assembly, install the top half of the J-36652-98-Tool for the 1500 models or J-36652-1-Tool for 2500, 3500 and HUMMER H2 models, align the swage ring, insert the bolts, align the following during this procedure.

You should use caution when using the hand grinder by the tripot housing.

You need J-35910-Drive Axle Seal Clamp Pliers, J-36652-1-Drive Axle Clamp Swage Tool, and J-36652-98-Axle Swage Tool.

You can remove the wheel drive shaft, use a hand grinder to cut through the swage ring, remove the tripot housing, wipe the grease off of the housing, degrease the tripot housing, remove the small boot retaining clamp, remove the spacer ring, the tripot spider assembly, and the tripot boot from the half shaft bar, and clean the half shaft bar.

You should assemble the tripot joint with the convolute retainer in the correct position, as illustrated.
