Q: How do you replace the Front Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint and Boot?
A:
You can remove the wheel drive shaft, position the wheel drive shaft bar in a soft jawed vise, remove the boot retaining clamp from the boot for the tripod housing, remove the boot clamp from the boot for the wheel drive shaft, remove the tripod housing, the retaining clip, and the tripod spider, remove the boot from the wheel drive shaft and inspect the wheel drive shaft inner joint for damage and excessive wear.

Q: How do you install the Front Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint and Boot?
A:
You can position the boot on the wheel drive shaft, place approximately half the lubricant inside the CV joint boot and the other half in the CV joint, install the CV joint, install the boot clamp on the boot and the wheel drive shaft, install the boot clamp on the boot and the CV joint housing, close the clamp, close the boot clamp, remove the wheel drive shaft, move the CV joint in a circular motion 4 to 5 times and install the wheel drive shaft in the vehicle.

The procedure is to remove the wheel drive shaft, clamp the drive axle shaft in a soft jawed vice, remove the boot clamp, remove and discard the boot clamp from the boot and the wheel drive shaft, remove the CV joint, remove the boot and inspect the outer CV joint for damage and wear.

Q: How do you install the Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint and Boot?
A:
You can install the CV joint boot and clamp, close the clamp, place approximately half of the lubricant in the CV joint boot and the other half in the CV joint, install the CV joint boot and clamp, close the clamp until the gap measures 1.90 mm (0.070 in), move the CV joint in a circular motion, clean any remaining lubricant from the outside of the CV joint, install the outer CV joint and boot and install the wheel drive shaft.

Q: How do you install the Front Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint and Boot?
A:
You can position the boot on the wheel drive shaft, install the tripod spider assembly and the retaining ring, place approximately half of the grease in the kit to the seal, place the remainder in the tripod housing, install the tripod housing, install the boot clamps on the boot for the tripod housing and the wheel drive, close the boot clamp until the gap measures 2.15 mm (0.085 in), close the clamp until the gap measures 1.9 mm (0.070 in), rotate the housing in a circular motion and install the wheel drive shaft from the vehicle.
