You should place the open end of the park brake shoe over the axle flange and rotate it, apply a thin coat of high-temperature silicone brake lubricant to the contact areas of the brake shoe and the backing plate and then adjust the park brake.

You should use denatured alcohol to clean brake dust or grease from the park shoes for installation, apply a small amount of high-temperature silicone grease to the brake shoe and backing plate contact points, and then adjust the park brake.

You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the brake rotor and then disconnect the park brake cable from the actuator.
