FAQ for Body Control Module Repair
Q: How do I program the SPS?
A:
If reprogramming has failed during the initial reprogramming event, back out of the SPS application completely. Re-select SPS from the TIS2WEB terminal application. When selecting the Programming Process, choose Replace and Program ECU, even though a new BCM is NOT being installed. Reprogram the BCM using the Service Programming System (SPS) with the latest calibration available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the SPS procedures in SI.

24/03/2022Q: What should be done if the BCM fails to reprogram?
A:
Turn OFF the ignition, and remove the key. Remove the fuses that power up the following modules/components for 2 minutes: BCM, EBCM, ECM, IS LPS (located in the left IP fuse box), and TCM. Open and close the driver's door. Allow enough time for the retained accessory power (RAP) to turn OFF. Reinstall the fuses. When selecting the Programming Process, choose Replace and Program ECU, even though a new BCM is NOT being installed. Reprogram the BCM using the Service Programming System with the latest calibration available on TIS2WEB.

The VCIM has a specific set of unique numbers that tie the module to each vehicle. You will need the 10-digit station identification and the 11-digit electronic serial number to configure the OnStar system. Failure to reconfigure may cause damage to the vehicle.
