You need to install the J 42640 in the steering column lower access hole, and then remove the intermediate shaft bearing and the intermediate shaft seal from the intermediate shaft bearing.

Q: How do you install the intermediate steering shaft bearing?
A:
You can install the intermediate shaft seal, connect the intermediate shaft bearing to the upper intermediate shaft and the intermediate shaft bearing to the studs on the cowl, install the intermediate shaft bearing lower brace retaining nut, the intermediate shaft bearing bracket retaining nuts, the upper intermediate shaft to the intermediate shaft bearing retaining bolt and the intermediate shaft seal upper retaining screws, reposition the cruise control module and install the cruise control module mounting nuts, reposition the power steering reservoir and install the power steering reservoir mounting nuts, connect the lower intermediate shaft to the intermediate steering shaft bearing, and then remove the J 42640 from the steering column lower access hole.

Q: What is the removal procedure for the intermediate steering shaft bearing?
A:
The procedure is to install the J 42640 in the steering column lower access hole, disconnect the lower intermediate shaft from the intermediate shaft bearing, remove the power steering reservoir mounting nuts, the cruise control module mounting nuts, and the intermediate shaft seal to the cowl mounting screws, pull the intermediate shaft seal down and remove the upper intermediate shaft to intermediate shaft bearing retaining bolt, remove the intermediate shaft bearing bracket retaining nuts and the intermediate shaft lower brace retaining nut, remove the intermediate shaft bearing from the studs on the cowl and disconnect the intermediate shaft bearing from the upper intermediate shaft, and then remove the intermediate shaft bearing and the intermediate shaft seal.
