Q: What is the removal procedure for the parking brake shoe (single rear wheel-2500/3500 series)?
A:
The procedure is to disable the park brake cable, and automatic adjuster, raise and support the vehicle, remove the rear brake rotor, disconnect the parking brake cable eye from the park brake actuator lever, compress the park brake cable return spring and release the park brake cable conduit from the backing plate, remove the park brake shoe hold down springs and the park brake shoe return spring, spread the top of the park brake shoes enough to clear the top anchor point, remove the park brake shoes, and then separate the park brake shoes.

Q: How do you install the parking brake shoe (single rear wheel-2500/3500 series)?
A:
You can clean the debris and the dust from the park brake components using a clean shop cloth, install the brake shoe adjuster and the adjuster to the park brake shoes, spread the top of the park brake shoes enough to clear the top anchor point, install the park brake shoe hold down springs and the park brake shoe return spring, adjust the park brake shoe, install the disc brake rotor and the park brake cable eyelet to the actuator lever, compress the park brake cable return spring and install the park brake cable conduit to the backing plate, push the cable conduit into place, install the tire and wheel, enable the park brake cable automatic adjuster, and then adjust the park brake cable.
