2010 Chevrolet Express 3500 Exhaust Manifold

You need to raise and support the vehicle, separate the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold, lower the vehicle, remove the engine cover, the oil level indicator tube, the spark plug wires from the spark plugs, and the exhaust manifold bolts and remove the exhaust manifold from the vehicle, discard the exhaust manifold gasket and the exhaust manifold to catalytic converter seal, and then remove the exhaust manifold studs.

The procedure is to install the exhaust manifold studs to the new manifold and the new exhaust manifold seal to the new manifold, position the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head, install the oil level indicator tube, the spark plug wires, the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold and the engine cover, and then inspect for exhaust leaks.

The procedure is to raise and support the vehicle, separate the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold, lower the vehicle, remove the engine cover, disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe from the exhaust manifold if equipped, remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs and the exhaust manifold bolts and remove the exhaust manifold from the vehicle, discard the gasket and the exhaust manifold to catalytic converter seal, and then remove the heat shield and bolts from the manifold as required and the studs as required.

You can install the heat shield and bolts and the exhaust pipe studs, apply a 5 mm (0.2 in) wide band of thread lock GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488), or equivalent, to the threads of the exhaust manifold bolts, position the exhaust manifold gasket to the manifold with two manifold bolts, install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head, bend over the exposed edge of the manifold gasket at the rear of the cylinder head using a flat punch, connect the EGR pipe to the manifold, if equipped, install the spark plug wires to the spark plugs, the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold using a NEW seal and the engine cover, and then inspect for exhaust leaks.
