Q: How do you remove the steering wheel inflatable restraint module coil?
A:
You need to disable the SIR System, remove the steering wheel from the steering shaft, pull the tilt lever straight out from the steering column if equipped with a tilt column, and then remove the steering column trim covers, the wire harness straps from the steering wheel column wire harness, the retaining ring and the SIR coil from the steering shaft.

Q: What is the installation procedure for the steering wheel inflatable restraint module coil?
A:
The procedure is to align the SIR coil assembly with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly, slide the SIR coil onto the steering shaft assembly, firmly seat the retaining ring into the groove on the steering shaft assembly, remove the centering tab if a centering tab is on the SIR coil, install the steering column trim covers, align the tilt lever into the steering column if equipped with a tilt column, install the steering wheel onto the steering shaft, remove the J-42640-pin, and then enable the SIR system.
