2010 Chevrolet Camaro Camshaft

First, remove the water pump, disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the camshaft position actuator magnet, and remove the CMP actuator magnet bolts and magnet. Finally, remove and discard the CMP actuator magnet gasket.

First, remove the oil pump, align the timing marks, install J42386-A, and remove the camshaft position (CMP) actuator solenoid valve. Next, remove the CMP actuator, remove the timing chain, and insert and secure a tie strap through the center of the actuator and over the reluctor wheel.

First, compress the timing chain tensioner guide and install EN 46330. Next, install the CMP actuator/timing chain, install a new CMP actuator solenoid valve, inspect the sprockets for proper alignment, and remove EN 46330. Tighten the CMP actuator solenoid valve, remove the J 42386-A, and install the oil pump.

Install the new CMP actuator solenoid valve, tighten the CMP actuator solenoid valve to 65 Nm, and install the CMP actuator magnet. Finally, install the starter.

First, install the camshaft sprocket bolt into the camshaft front bolt hole, remove the bolt from the front of the camshaft, and install the camshaft retainer and bolts. Next, install the retainer with the sealing gasket facing the engine block, tighten the camshaft retainer bolts to 25 Nm, compress the timing chain tensioner guide and install the EN 46330. After that align the CMP actuator, install the CMP actuator and timing chain, install a new CMP actuator solenoid valve, and inspect the sprockets for proper alignment. Next, remove the EN 46330, tighten the CMP actuator solenoid valve, remove the J 42386-A, and install the starter motor. Install the engine front cover, install the valve lifters, and install the radiator support.
