Q: What is the rack and pinion installation procedure?
A:
First, install the rack and pinion assembly by connecting the steering gear retaining bracket nuts and tightening to 50 Nm. Install the crossmember by tightening the nuts/bolts to the underbody to 150 Nm. Next, install the ball joint hex nuts and connect the stabilizer shaft to the knuckle by tightening the bolt with the stabilizer shaft link assembly. After that install the outer tie rod hex nuts and tighten to 45 Nm. Install the intermediate shaft and the steering wheel/column.

Install the cross member and tighten the nuts/bolts to 150 Nm. Q: What is the steering gear yoke adjustment procedure?
A:
Remove the steering gear, loosen the locknut and loosen the yoke plug by 45 degrees. Hold the yoke plug stationary and tighten the locknut to 30 Nm. Next, install the steering gear and drive the vehicle to make sure the steering system returns to the straight-ahead position.
