01/11/2022 Q: How to replace the rear seat cushion cover and pad (40 percent seat)?
A:
You should remove the rear recliner outer finish cover, the rear seat track rear outboard cover, the rear seat armrest hinge finish cover, and the rear seat recliner inner finish cover, disengage the j-channel retainers from the seat cushion frame, disconnect the electrical connectors that attach to the seat cushion and the hog rings that secure the rear seat cushion cover to the pad, remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly and pull the cover away from the pad to disengage the retainers.

You should detach the seat back cushion cover bottom two Bungie clips from the crossbar, pull the seat back cushion cover bottom back to gain access to the panel screws that attach the panel to the lumbar support bracket, pull the panel downward first to disengage the upper retainers and move the finish panel and side clips to one side to disengage the panel from the seat frame.

You should remove the front seat, the front seat adjuster, the front seat outer adjuster finish cover, the front seat inner recliner finish cover, and the rear retainers on the seat cushion cover from the seat frame. Then, you should disengage the J-channel retainers from the seat frame, disconnect the electrical connector and the duct from the vent fan, remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly, and the hog rings from the underside of the seat cover and pull the cushion cover off of the pad.

You should remove the video display and the driver or passenger seat back cushion finish cover, use the proper eye protection when drilling to prevent metal chips from causing physical injury, unhook the seat back cushion cover J-hook from pad wire, drill out all of the guide rivets before removing the pad wire and re-rivet at the same location on the cushion frame with new rivets when you re-install the cushion pad wire.
