Q: How to bleed the liftgate hydraulic system?
A:
You should inspect if the liftgate hydraulic actuator pump is removed from the vehicle and placed on a clean/level workbench horizontally to the + sign to accurately inspect and add fluid as needed. The liftgate hydraulic actuator pump must rest in the horizontal position for one minute before the hydraulic fluid level is inspected. The level must be above the + mark after cycling the liftgate 3-5 times. You should cycle the liftgate 3-5 times to ensure the proper fluid level and inspect the fluid level.

Q: How to disconnect and connect the liftgate hydraulic actuator hose?
A:
You should reposition the liftgate hydraulic pump, place a clean protective covering over the interior and adjacent areas, reposition the pump so that the lines are on top for minimal leakage, disconnect the quick connect using J-8059-pliers while gently pulling on the hydraulic actuator hose or equivalent, ensure the quick connects are not distorted during removal or installation by overspreading the quick connects, bleed the hydraulic system and refill the hydraulic system.

Q: How to replace the liftgate hydraulic actuator?
A:
You should disconnect the battery, open and support the liftgate, remove the rear compartment floor stowage compartment and the quarter upper trim panel, and position a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels. Then, you should cut the tie wraps and replace them with new tie wraps, reposition the liftgate hydraulic actuator, disconnect the liftgate hydraulic actuator hoses from the hydraulic actuator pump and release the hydraulic hose rubber grommet from the liftgate opening channel. Then, you should disconnect the liftgate hydraulic actuator from the liftgate and liftgate opening and slowly pull the hydraulic hoses from the pillar and inspect the liftgate hydraulic system for proper operation before the final assembly of trim panels.
