A:
The procedure is to remove the tire and wheel assemblies, remove the rear wheel axle shafts, remove the rear brake rotors, remove the propeller shaft from the vehicle, remove the washer, remove the pinion yoke, and then remove the drive pinion seal.

Q: What is the proper way to install the drive pinion housing and/or seal?
A:
The proper way is to install the inner pinion bearing cup into the pinion gear bearing retainer, install the outer pinion bearing cup into the pinion gear bearing retainer, install the pinion gear bearing retainer and bolts tighten to 88 Nm (65 lb-ft), install the rear propeller shaft from the vehicle, and then install the rear axle shafts.

The procedure is to remove the rear axle shafts, remove the rear propeller shaft from the vehicle, remove the drive pinion flange/yoke and/or oil seal, remove the collapsible spacer, and then remove the inner pinion bearing cup.

Q: What is the proper way to install the drive pinion flange/yoke and/or oil seal?
A:
The proper way is to install a new pinion oil seal, install the drive flange onto the pinion shaft until a few treads show through the drive flange, install the washer and the nut, install the axle shafts, and then install the tire and wheel assemblies.
