FAQ for Power Steering Reservoir Repair

Q: How to perform the Power Steering System Bleeding?
A:
First, you need to fill the pump reservoir with fluid to the minimum system level, FULL COLD level, or middle of the hash mark on the cap stick fluid level indicator. If it is equipped with hydro-boost, you should fully charge the hydro-boost accumulator by starting the engine, firmly applying the brake pedal 10-15 times, and turning the engine OFF. Then, please raise the vehicle until the front wheels are off the ground, key on engine OFF, and turn the steering wheel from stop to stop 12 times. Finally, you should verify the power steering fluid level per operating specification, start the engine, rotate the steering wheel from left to right, and verify the fluid level.

Q: How to assemble the Power Steering Fluid Reservoir-Off Vehicle (CB Series)?
A:
First, you need to lubricate the new O-ring seal with power steering fluid, install the new O-ring seal onto the neck of the reservoir, and install the reservoir onto the hydraulic pump assembly. Then, please align the feet of the reservoir with the sides of the hydraulic pump housing. Finally, you should install the new reservoir retaining clips (supplied with the pump) and ensure the retaining clip tabs fully engage with the hydraulic pump housing.

Q: How to disassemble the Power Steering Fluid Reservoir-Off Vehicle (CB Series)?
A:
First, you need to place the hydraulic pump on a fixed, flat surface, with the shaft facing upward. Then, please insert a screwdriver into the retaining clip tab, force the retaining clip tab outward, and slide the reservoir clip away from the hydraulic pump assembly. Finally, you should repeat the above steps to remove the second reservoir clip, remove the reservoir from the hydraulic pump housing, and remove the O-ring seal from the neck of the reservoir or inside the hydraulic pump housing.
