2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Timing Cover

You need to remove the accessory drive belt, loosen the drive belt Idler Pulley bolt and remove the drive belt idler pulley and bolt.

You need to remove the oil pump, install the J 42386-A and bolts, use one M10-1.5 x 120 mm and one M10-1.5 x 45 mm bolt for proper tool operation, rotate the crankshaft sprocket until the camshaft position (CMP) actuator alignment mark and the crankshaft sprocket alignment mark are aligned, remove and discard the CMP actuator solenoid valve and the CMP actuator and Timing Chain, loosen and separate the CMP actuator and timing chain from the camshaft, position your fingers behind the actuator sprocket and pull the actuator away from the front of the camshaft, insert and secure a tie strap through the center of the actuator and over the reluctor wheel, remove the timing chain tension bolts and tensioner, use the J 41816-2, the J 41558, bolts and the J 8433 to remove the crankshaft sprocket and remove the crankshaft sprocket and the crankshaft sprocket key.

You need to remove the oil pump, remove and discard the Camshaft position (CMP) actuator solenoid valve, loosen and separate the CMP actuator and timing chain from the camshaft, position your fingers behind the actuator sprocket and pull the actuator away from the front of the camshaft, remove the CMP actuator and timing chain and insert and secure a tie strap through the center of the actuator and over the reluctor wheel.
